Help seniors and adults remain comfortable and supported at home. Assisting Hands Home Care – Merrillville is seeking dependable caregivers to provide non-medical, one-on-one care to clients in Crown Point and nearby communities.

Responsibilities
Depending on each client’s individualized care plan, you may:
- Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, eating, and other personal care needs
- Support safe walking and transfers according to the care plan and your training
- Assist clients with walkers, wheelchairs, and other mobility equipment
- Provide companionship, conversation, and social engagement
- Prepare meals and help with light housekeeping, laundry, and organization
- Offer medication reminders; this role does not include medication administration
- Observe and report changes in client condition, appearance, or behavior
- Use our mobile app to clock in and out, communicate with the office, and document care
- Follow infection prevention practices, safety procedures, and agency policies
- Maintain client dignity, confidentiality, and professional conduct
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED

At least two years of paid caregiving experience in a home care setting or a similar paid caregiving role required
- Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and proof of auto insurance
- Current CPR certification and TB test required before a client assignment
- Comfortable using a smartphone for scheduling, communication, and documentation
- Dependable attendance, clear communication, and a compassionate, professional approach
Schedule and Work Location
This is an hourly, non-exempt position providing care in clients’ homes in Crown Point and nearby communities. The position reports to the Staffing Coordinator.
Schedules and hours depend on client needs, your qualifications, and your availability.
