Tagalog-Speaking Caregiver – Winfield/Crown Point | November 7–15

Help seniors and adults remain comfortable and supported at home. Assisting Hands Home Care – Merrillville is seeking an experienced, dependable caregiver for a client in Winfield/Crown Point, November 7–15, 2026, from 8 AM to 2 PM daily, including weekends.

Tagalog communication skills are required for this assignment to communicate effectively with the client about daily care needs. Qualified applicants of all nationalities and backgrounds are welcome.

Responsibilities

Depending on the client’s individualized care plan, you may:

Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, eating, and other personal care needs
Support safe walking and transfers according to the care plan and your training
Assist with walkers, wheelchairs, and other mobility equipment
Provide companionship, conversation, and social engagement in Tagalog
Prepare meals and help with light housekeeping, laundry, and organization
Offer medication reminders; this role does not include medication administration
Observe and report changes in client condition, appearance, or behavior
Use our mobile app to clock in and out, communicate with the office, and document care
Follow infection prevention practices, safety procedures, and agency policies
Maintain client dignity, confidentiality, and professional conduct

Qualifications

Ability to communicate effectively in Tagalog about daily care needs
High school diploma or GED
At least two years of paid caregiving experience in a home care setting or a similar paid caregiving role required
Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and proof of auto insurance
Current CPR certification and TB test required before a client assignment
Comfortable using a smartphone for scheduling, communication, and documentation
Dependable attendance, clear communication, and a compassionate, professional approach
Completion of required background screening, onboarding, and orientation before starting the assignment

Schedule and Work Location

This is an hourly, non-exempt position providing non-medical, one-on-one care in a client’s home in Winfield/Crown Point, Indiana.

Assignment dates: November 7–15, 2026
Shift: 8 AM–2 PM daily, including weekends

Additional assignments may be available afterward based on client needs, your qualifications, and your availability.
